Sports & Family Medicine Physician Dr. Jesse Morse joined us to give us his medical and fantasy thoughts on some of the top injuries right now to factor into your dynasty and best ball drafts.
Nick Chubb
Fantasy Outlook
Chubb’s ADP is about round 10 currently. If we get a 85% Chubb that could be on the field, even with limited touches, in week 1, this will be well worth the investment right now. If we keep getting positive reports this summer, you could see his draft value rise to the round 5 range.
J.K. Dobbins
Fantasy Outlook
This one almost seems more concerning than Chubb’s injury from Dr. Morse. Dobbin’s ADP is currently around the 14th round in PPR leagues. At this point or later in the drafts, the draft capital cost is worth the investment in drafts.
Kirk Cousins/Aaron Rodgers
Fantasy Outlook
At this point, you should feel pretty safe drafting either of these quarterbacks later in your drafts as they both look to be fully ready for week 1 but you should have better options for your QB1 in any format.
TJ Hockenson
Fantasy Outlook
This could be a scenario where Hockenson is not fully ready to contribute until the later in the season. In redraft leagues, this is a tight end you should just let someone else take the gamble on. If you are patient and have the depth, he could be an option right now later in dynasty startup drafts.
Mark Andrews
Fantasy Outlook
You will probably see Andrews slide a bit in drafts right now, which should present some upside value for you to get in best ball drafts. I would feel very comfortable taking Andrews in round 5 of any drafts right now. Before his injury, Andrews had five top-10 TE finishes.
Kyren Williams
Williams will miss the rest of OTAs with a foot issue. Williams built his production last year off volume, as he was first in the league in snap percentage among all running backs. Williams as dealt with various foot issues throughout his career. While Sean McVay said it’s not major and he should be at training camp, I think it’s something to slightly factor in your best ball drafts right now. His ADP is in the 2nd round right now, I would probably look at other options in that round right now and then maybe take him if he falls into the 3rd round.
Josh Jacobs
Fantasy Outlook
Jacobs has dealt with some hamstring issues that has caused him to miss some time in the offseason mini-camps. His ADP right now is around 30th overall, placing him in the third round. These injuries might not be enough to lower him too much, but in redraft leagues I will be moving a guy like Travis Etienne ahead of him as of now.
Anthony Richardson/Joe Burrow
Fantasy Outlook
Burrow has dealt with various injuries over the years and has started off slow to begin the season because of them. But I would feel very comfortable pulling the trigger on him if he falls into round 6/7 of drafts right now which you could be seeing with his ADP at 77. In his two full games played, Richardson was the QB4 and QB2. He also got a tremendous draft addition in AD Mitchell to pair with Michael Pittman and Josh Downs. Of all of the options outside of the top-five quarterbacks (he is my QB6), I could see Richardson having a line of sight of finishing in the top three at the end of the season. The injuries in his rookie year are not going to scare me away from taking Richardson in the top five rounds of any format as my QB1.
